Data Analyst at Roswell Park – The purpose of this internship is to analyze existing data to identify risk or prognostic factors for cancer. The intern will assist in summarizing data analyses results in tabular format and draft a manuscript to be submitted for peer review. This includes biomedical literature reviews and data analyses using preferred statistical software. The background required is an interest in public health and experience in statistical analysis. Disability and Special Need Support at People Inc. – The purpose of this internship is to develop a meaningful and challenging project to help individuals with disabling conditions or other special needs participate and succeed in an accepting society. Some necessary skills include lifting requirement of 35 lbs.; ability to lift and transfer individuals as required by prescribed program/plan; ability to move, reposition, and place individuals in pieces of equipment; physical agility and ability to react to emergency situations, including Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP-R) certification as per regulatory guidelines (provided in training); and Certification in CPR (provided in training). Donor Engagement Signage Project at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Buffalo – The purpose of this internship is to research and write narratives about the donors who have generously named spaces inside the JCC locations both in Amherst and downtown. The narratives will be turned into plaques that will be displayed inside each of the named spaces on both campuses as part of a larger signage project to refresh and renew all the signage in both locations. This project will meet the needs of the organization to provide donor stewardship and engagement with people who have made significant gifts to name spaces at the JCC, while also putting the narrative in a public space that will hopefully inspire members and the community. Educational and Administrative Development at Just for Kids – The purpose of this internship is to assist in developing educational programming and curriculum development, business planning, budgeting, marketing, organization of special events, and a variety of large scale projects for Just for Kids, a not-for-profit leader in the child care field. This is for a student looking to expand experience into the structural, administrative, and organizational realm of non-profit organizations with an interest in the field of education, human services, or OST (Out of School Time) programming. Fundraising and Development at Buffalo Prenatal Perinatal Network Inc. (BPPN) – The purpose of this internship is to assist with fundraising and development efforts for the annual event on July 20th and Fatherhood Conference; work on an educational/awareness marketing plan with program staff and marketing team; and help with the management of the social media platforms. The intern will communicate with donors and sponsors for annual fundraiser; work on logistics for annual fundraiser and conference; develop feature stories to market the mission; seek donations and increase ticket sales; work with the Board of Directors to promote the mission of BPPN; and develop the presentation program at the annual fundraiser. Information Technology- Server Upgrade at Seal and Design Inc. – The purpose of this internship is to work with IT operations staff in sourcing server hardware for upgrade/replacement; prepare hardware, including building virtual machines; and replacing critical infrastructure that is nearing End of Life. Inside Sales at Venture Steel - The purpose of this internship is to aide the inside sales department with ensuring orders are properly managed and shipped on time. The intern will assist the Inside Sales team with quoting, order entry, logistics, expediting, inventory management, coordination with Plant and other Departments. Marketing and Public Relations at the Foundation for Jewish Philanthropies – The purpose of this internship is to support and expand the Foundation's ongoing marketing and PR efforts through continuous new and refreshed content and presence on the organizations's website, social media platforms, traditional media, and direct messaging to existing donor clients, prospective clients, and professional referral sources. Success will be measured by reliably meeting traditional media outlets' submission deadlines, providing quality (timely, well written and relevant) submissions, posts and communications to projects' stakeholders and by the frequency of posts and marketing communications. Mental Health Outpatient Services at Community Missions of Niagara Frontier Inc – The purpose of this internship is to facilitate groups for persons receiving mental health rehabilitation services. Examples include helping find housing, work, and going back to school. This is part of the PROs program, a comprehensive, recovery-oriented program for individuals with psychiatric disabilities. Neurosurgery Research at the University at Buffalo Neurosurgery – The purpose of this internship is to assist in the project “Atherosclerotic Disease: Evaluation of Long Term Clinical and Radiological Outcomes.” Intracranial atherosclerotic disease (ICAD) is accounts for 10% of acute ischemic stroke in the US projecting to 70,000 strokes per year. Over the years improvement in the medical therapy has resulted in a reduction in the overall stroke rate however, the rate recurrent stroke despite best medical therapy approaches 12% per year. The work at this internship includes creating a data collection tool; review of patient medical charts and data collection; tabulation, descriptive and comparative statistical analysis. Office of Senator Timothy Kennedy – The purpose of this internship is to learn about government and the function of State government by participating in a range of projects and daily functions are required by our staff. This project intern will be a valuable addition to the team. This includes a range of outreach events, meetings with community groups and leaders from businesses and the like. An intern will be asked to support staff on any level of attending events or meetings, provide project support on-site, answer phones, take messages and craft responses for specific tasks. Recycling based business work at Manitoba Corporation – The purpose of this internship is to participate in a recycling based business and to expose the student to the firm and industry. Refugee Services at Jewish Family Services of Western New York – The purpose of this internship is assist refugee services case managers in their day-to-day responsibilities in supporting refugee clients. This includes assisting clients during walk-in hours, helping with apartment set up and orientation to household management, bus training, driving clients to appointments when needed, assisting with weekly cultural orientations, and assisting in clerical duties. Refugee Services at the Center for Survivors of Torture at Jewish Family Services of Western New York – The purpose of this internship is to assist Center Care Coordinators with a variety of case activities, such as client intakes, completing applications such as DSS, HEAP, and Social Security Card applications, administering Client Satisfaction Surveys, participate in non-clinical support groups, and Therapy Garden maintenance assistance. The Center's goal is to assist torture survivors and their families in the healing and recovery process and allow survivors to attend to their health, build effective support networks, and lead productive and meaningful lives. Social Media and Digital Marketing at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Buffalo – The purpose of this internship is to work with the communications department during the busy season of summer events, programs, content creation, graphic design, photography, and social media production.

Software Engineering at the Office of Naval Research Projects-Mission Planning, Command and Control at CUBRC, Inc. – The purpose of this internship is be a key member of member of a team of project engineers and software developers working on advanced technologies being developed to support our naval warfighters that integrate machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms. The candidate will support the project team by performing simple research tasks assigned by the project manager, testing of software, running simulations, preparing data for use by the team and contributing material to project reports or presentations. Success will be evaluated based on the candidate's ability to work within a hybrid team environment, demonstration of communication skills (oral and written). The candidate must be a US Citizen.
