Camp Specialist at Camp Centerland at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Buffalo – The purpose of this internship is to work with the staff of Camp Centerland for the summer season to inspire and empower each camper to embrace their unique potential within a supportive community. Positions include photography and social media; dance specialist; inclusion counselor to work with campers with special needs; ropes specialist; or nature specialist. Climate Smart Communities Certification with Councilmember Jacqui Berger – The purpose of this internship is to work with the Clean Energy Task Force, Councilmember Jacqui Berger, and several departments (engineering, building and others). You will learn about the Climate Smart Communities Program, environmental projects and incentives and how they support sustainability and and address climate change. Writing reports, gathering and submitting documentation. The project will help continue the town's commitment to addressing climate change. Curriculum Design and Event Planning at LiNK Jewish Buffalo – The purpose of this internship is to support LiNK's initiatives around addressing antisemitism and educating about Israel, and to help create opportunities for meaningful and relevant Jewish exploration and learning. The background required is knowledge of Jewish Buffalo, Israel, antisemitism, and prior experience planning programs. The intern will join Buffalo Jewish Federation’s team and it is an opportunity for LiNK to introduce fresh perspectives, talent, and skills into our workforce and our communities. Disability and Special Need Support at People Inc. – The purpose of this internship is to develop a meaningful and challenging project to help individuals with disabling conditions or other special needs participate and succeed in an accepting society. Some necessary skills include lifting requirement of 35 lbs.; ability to lift and transfer individuals as required by prescribed program/plan; ability to move, reposition, and place individuals in pieces of equipment; physical agility and ability to react to emergency situations, including Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP-R) certification as per regulatory guidelines (provided in training); and Certification in CPR (provided in training). Human Resource Internship at Just for Kids – The purpose of this internship is to assist the Recruiter, Onboarding Specialist, and HR Team in hiring and onboarding staff for the 2024-2025 school year. Such projects include: recruitment efforts in sourcing candidates using various applications, creating interviews with candidates, creating interview folders, sitting in on interviews, helping with current HR projects, organizing data, and much more. Inside Sales at Venture Steel - The purpose of this internship is to aide the inside sales department with ensuring orders are properly managed and shipped on time. The intern will assist the Inside Sales team with quoting, order entry, logistics, expediting, inventory management, coordination with Plant and other Departments. Success will be measured by the ability to satisfy customer needs through supplying orders that are accurate, meet quality requirements, and are on-time. Law Intern at Western New York Law Center - The purpose of this internship is to explore different areas of law in providing free legal services for the community. This project will help support the specific needs of the unit, while providing knowledge and experience for the student during the internship. This includes research, writing, shadowing in court, and helping with educational clinics. This internship is especially applicable to prelaw students. Radio News Intern at Buffalo Toronto Public Media (WNED PBS NPR) – The purpose of this internship is to work directly with the news director, managing editor, reporters and digital staff to create and produce content for our station. The intern will gain audio and digital experience in public media broadcasting and news content as well as complete the internship with a varied portfolio. Hours are flexible and work may be hybrid – a blend of remote and in-office work. Responsibilities include assisting with research, drafting, and proofing news content; conducting interviews and cover news to help create content for on-air and digital platforms; and actively participating in broadcast projects. Refugee Services at Jewish Family Services of Western New York – The purpose of this internship is assist refugee services case managers in their day-to-day responsibilities in supporting refugee clients. This includes assisting clients during walk-in hours, helping with apartment set up and orientation to household management, bus training, driving clients to appointments when needed, assisting with weekly cultural orientations, and assisting in clerical duties. Social Media/Marketing Intern at Buffalo Toronto Public Media (WNED PBS NPR) – The purpose of this internship is to work directly with the social media coordinator to create content for our family of social media accounts. The intern will gain experience with multiple stations and platforms and complete the internship with a varied portfolio. Opportunities to work with other marketing personnel will be available.  Hours are flexible and work may be hybrid – a blend of remote and in-office work. Responsibilities include assisting with research, drafting, and proofing content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, et al.; assisting in monitoring responses across platforms as well as researching potential social media contacts, tools, events, and opportunities; contributing to the organization’s content calendar/social media scheduling; working with the Social Media Coordinator to identify areas of improvement for BTPM’s social media; and researching strategies to meet social media goals.
