High Holidays 2020 - 5781
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Hillel of Buffalo will not be holding in-person High Holiday services this year. Instead of our traditional form of gathering, we will be offering a virtual High Holiday experience called Higher Holidays. This service will be unlike any that you have experienced before. Using prayer and creative content produced by Hillel International, you will have the opportunity to sing, reflect, and be inspired from the safety of your own home. We will also be adding special moments to the service to ensure that it feels like a Buffalo experience.
Community Members and Families:
Hillel International is providing multiple service styles and options for Yom Kippur.
Higher Holidays: You can join a livestream of Reform Kol Nidre services on Sunday, Sept. 27th, and Yom Kippur Morning and evening Yizkor on Monday Sept. 28th. These services are musical, spiritually uplifting, and incorporate poetry and thematic presentations. Visit http://higherholidays.org for service times. You do not need a separate link for services - they will begin streaming from the site at the scheduled time.
Conservative Services: These services offer a traditional, meaningful prayer experience. You may join the livestream from Princeton University Hillel or the University of Washington Hillel. Pre-registration is required. Visit this link for schedules: https://higherholidays.org/conservative-services/
Option 1: Students can stream Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur services from their dorm or apartment from www.higherholidays.org.
Option 2: Students can attend an in-person viewing of streamed services at Hillel. These groups will be restricted in size to allow for social distancing. Both Conservative and Reform service options will be available. If you did not receive an email with service times contact email@example.com.
